Undergraduate Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculator

Use the calculator on this page to help you prepare your academic plan, if you are not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). The grade point averages computed by this calculator do not replace the GPA calculated by the University nor does we promise that this calculator will calculate a GPA that is identical to the GPA calculated by the University.

If you have enrolled in a course whose grade is not included in the calculation of your GPA, exclude the credits earned in these courses when using the GPA calculator.

Please refer to the University’s Undergraduate Record and the academic policies for each school for information about how your GPA may be impacted by repeated courses. You may also use the table below as a guide; please note, however, that the table is not a substitute for the University’s official policy on the treatment of these courses in regard to GPAs.

Instructions for using the Undergraduate Term GPA Calculator

Disable your browser’s pop-up blocker and any other pop-up blocker (such as on your Google toolbar).
Pull up your unofficial transcript in SIS
For each term, enter the number of credits that you will earn for each course in which you are enrolled in the Credits column with the exception of courses that are not included in the calculation of your GPA. You must include credits for courses in which you have earned an “F” letter grade in order to get an accurate result. Generally, you can find your earned credits on your unofficial transcript.
Enter the grade letter that you have earned or expect to earn for each course in the Grade Letter column. Generally, you can find your term GPA on your unofficial transcript.
Click on the "Compute GPA" button at the bottom of the calculator.

By clicking on Compute GPA, the calculator will populate Total Credits and calculate a Term GPA based upon the values that you entered. Two models of the Term GPA Calculator are provided to allow you to compare computed GPAs by term or, if projecting your GPA, how your GPA may be impacted by a change in your expected grade letter.

To clear the values entered in the Undergraduate Term GPA Calculator, click Reset.

Instructions for using the Undergraduate Cumulative GPA Calculator

Disable your browser’s pop-up blocker and any other pop-up blocker (such as on your Google toolbar).
Pull up your unofficial transcript. To do this, log into your SIS Student Center and under Academics, select “Transcript: View Unofficial” in the drop down menu. For Report Type, select Advising Transcript.
For each term, enter the total number of credits that you earned in the Credits column with the exception of courses that are not included in the calculation of your GPA (see table above). You should include credits for courses in which you have earned an “F” letter grade. Generally, you can find your earned credits on your Unofficial Transcript. The value in the first row posted next to Curr Credits reflects the credits earned for a term.
Enter the Term GPA that you earned for each term in which you were enrolled. Generally, you can find your term GPA on your Unofficial Transcript. The value in the first row posted next to GPA reflects your term GPA.
If you are projecting a cumulative GPA based upon your expected academic performance, you should also include credits and grade letters for projected terms.
Click on the Compute GPA button at the bottom of the calculator.

By clicking on Compute GPA, the Undergraduate Cumulative GPA Calculator will populate Total Credits and calculate an Overall GPA, or a cumulative GPA, based upon the values that you entered.
